Fitness Update/ Insanity Review

So I am still a ways from meeting my fitness goals but I have had a great start. I've lost over 15 lbs. I am no fitness guru but some things have been really helpful to me and I thought I would pass them along since that is the reason why I blog.

Click the jump for a brief review on "Insanity" and my fitness journey update.

It started this summer when my bestie and I booked a trip to Mexico. That gave me a goal, by December 2012 I wanted to be in better shape! Okay, okay  I wanted to be all cut up! Lol I'm not there yet but I will be! I knew I needed some sort of structure or disciplined plan because trying to do it on my own has never worked. One day I came across a blog post about Insanity and I thought why not?!

Insanity is an intense 60 day work out program that focuses on max interval training. I was not in shape at all when I started and it was TOUGH! But I pushed through it and completed the 60 days. At the end I lost about 10 lbs and a couple inches (Sorry, I don't have exact numbers). Since completing the 60 day calender,  I continue to use the work out videos and the weight continues to come off. So I give it a thumbs up!

The trainer's name is Sean T, and there are times when I wanted to jump through the screen and punch him! LOL. But his training pushed me to limits I never thought I could reach, and definitely would not have attempted on my own.

As far as food?

Insanity also comes with a meal plan, which some days I follow more strictly than others. It advises you to eat 5 meals a day, and sometimes I just don't want 5 meals. But it is important to make sure you are fueling your body enough while doing such intense work outs.I pretty much removed junk food and fried foods from my diet (with the exception of a once in a blue splurge). I eat seafood, chicken, lots of fruits and veggies and  also drink more water. My new goal is for the summer. I'm going to keep working out so I can be more fit when it's time to wear less clothes! However, I'm getting a little tired of insanity and will be starting a new work out routine within the next week. I will give more details in a later post!

PLUS: Besides Insanity, I have also found heyfranhey to be extremely helpful. This blog is full of nutrition and fitness tips, info, and motivation.

Peace until next time!
